Chicago: Good food, good family, good walks!

We got into the Chicago area (Mokena, IL) late Thursday.  Uncle Norm and Aunt Paulette helped us get set up (and not take out the basketball net with our trailer!) and then came into the RV to meet the kitties.  We had a nice visit with all, and Aunt Paulette came on Tawny's adventuresome first walk in the area.
Friday night the whole fam-damily went to Little Joe's to enjoy some good Italian food and great fun with their in-house crooner...

We all had a lovely weekend with lots of visiting - at Mike & Lynn's house, at Norm & Paulette's house, and at Brett & Teri's house - "The Erickson's Last Resort"... and what a resort it is....

Sam & Tawny had many nice walks around the Erickson's Last Resort.  Sam loved the upstairs area (and the woods beyond the lower firepit!), and Tawny wandered around the lower area some, but mostly walked down the block to the community pond area, where she chased frogs and locusts around in the grass.  I'm sure the neighbours will not soon forget the little bitty kitty trotting down their sidewalk with her tail straight in the air twice a day to go see the frogs...
There was lots of R&R for the kitties this weekend.  I think they enjoyed hanging out in the trailer and catching up on their sleep, after all the excitement of a week on the road getting here.

Sunday afternoon (Sept 21) - Terri & Brett hosted a get-together in their backyard.  The food was amazing and their dog, Jax, (the gentlest golden retriever in the world) got to join in the festivities.

Now we're off, headed north again... back to Canada to enjoy the fall colours through Ontario and Quebec.  We were a little early for Chicago's fall, though we did see some gorgeous red bushes.  We very much enjoyed our time in the Chicago area.  Thanks, everyone!!  xoxoxo >^..^<
